There are two new years in the Jewish calendar—Nissan and Tishri, back in 2015 Nissan started in March, and 2016’s Nissan started in April. Nissan is the first month and it is equal to January, thus January starts in Sivan = March, and also starts in Tammuz = April. The beginning of months is very important to signify a new beginning to the world, and the number 7 is a Sabbath connection.
